What books got you into reading?

A Weekly Meme Hosted by Booking Through Thursday

My mother tells me that when I was a little kid I used to have her read the same books over and over. In fact, my parents thought I was reading when I was actually memorizing the stories. The favorites seemed to be the monster at the end of the book and the Mickey Mouse sorcery story. When I was a kid I was fascinated by all kinds of books, reading every VC Andrews at the time and Stephen king in fourth grade! I stayed mainly with adult works, but was true to the kiddie stuff too - R.L. Stine's Fear Street series, later some of his goosebumps, Christopher Pike, Judy Blume, etc. I've read thousands throughout the years and sadly can't remember the first, but I do know I'll always love reading.
