A Weekly Meme Hosted by Booking Through Thursday

What, in your opinion, is the definition of a “reader.” A person who indiscriminately reads everything in sight? A person who reads BOOKS? A person who reads, period, no matter what it is? … Or, more specific? Like the specific person who’s reading something you wrote?

To me a person who enjoys books and reads is a reader, period. I don't think a reader has to read all the time because a person goes through phases. I also think a discriminating reader qualifies as much as someone who enjoys a multitude of genres. I don't call people who only read magazines "readers", though, as it seems books at least have to be involved.

Agree! A person who enjoys books and reads is a reader. Books are the main ingredients. :)

I suppose a "reader", if it's anything at all, is a self-applied tag by somebody who identifies themselves at least partly through their reading. But I wouldn't dwell on it...
