Monday Sweet Reads: Literary Cakes II

Sweet Reads is a bi-monthly feature (Mondays) hosted at Word Spelunking that showcases book inspired cakes, cupcakes and other goodies.

Speaking to the inner librarian, book lover in all of us? Very detailed and adorable cake that would be great for almost any reader I'd think. Tons of cake books and even a little teapot on top of other books on the desk! Love it, almost looks like it's made of clay. Actually this would also be a cute polymer clay crafting project, I think.

Yeah, there's something about sea monsters and stuff that reminds me of reading. Maybe the sea classics like Moby Dick, Treasure Island, and such remind me of these? I also love Book art related to sea creatures.

Peter Pan is a classic children's story that brings alive magic in many forms. Reading is just one of them. Here we have a very layered, high cake. I'd be nervous moving this at all! The reading adventure is clearly outlined by the base being a book from which all "the magic arises." Just clever, cute, and amazing.

I'm not personally an Austen fan, but this is book cake is as nifty as they can and perfect for Austen fans. The book and all it's assortments and accompaniments to delight.
