Thankfully Reading Weekend 2012

Quoted From Jenn's Bookshelves:

Don’t shoot the messenger, but Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away. I’m pleased to announce that I will once again be hosting Thankfullly Reading Weekend, November 22-25! Want to avoid the crowds & shopping on Black Friday? Plan on spending a nice, quiet holiday at home? Join us!  This year, Jennifer from Literate Housewife is joining me as my partner in crime.

Just what is this Thankfully Reading Weekend I speak of?  Here are the details:

There are no rules to the weekend, we’re simply hoping to devote a good amount of time to reading, and perhaps meeting some of our reading challenges and goals for 2012. We thought it’d be fun if we cheered each other on a bit. If you think you can join in, grab the button  and add your sign in post to the link-up below. If you don’t have a blog, you can sign up the comments!

We’ll also be checking in on Twitter using hashtag #thankfulreading. Join in for the weekend or for only a single day. No rules, no pressure!

Once again this year, we will be doing some fun Thankfully Reading mini-challenges over the weekend.  Be sure to check back Thanksgiving weekend for more details!

This sounds perfect for me, I have a massive backlog of reading (as always) and time off for the Thanksgiving holidays. Reading sounds like a relaxing way to take a break from cooking and chill while disgesting.

Thanksgiving Weekend Progress, Updated as it Progress

  • Thursday, Thanksgiving morning in the wee hours, finished the Harlequin Deadline for Love by Leigh Michaels

Wanted to read throughout the day but never had time. Ended up cooking Thanksgiving for seven people and bringing the dishes to my moms across the street around four. She wasn't ready yet so we ended up eating about 5:00. Then I hung out for an hour or so, then brought the dishes home. Tired and trying to cram into the fridge, I didn't have much energy left to do anything and fell asleep early.

  • Friday morning I woke up early but then grew tired again in the afternoon and took a nap. Sigh! Ended up being a long nap. That evening I read some more of Into The Woods: Tales from the Hollows and Beyond.  I also read some more of Stephen King's Night shift (Two stories) that night before bed.
