Top Ten Favorite New-To-Me Authors I Read In 2012

I found so many series in 2012 that it's not even funny. At first I thought this list would be easy to write, but looking at the list of books read in 2012, a lot of the authors I'd already read, so it's going to be a bit tricky.

1.  Kim Harrison - My new favorite series, The Hollows. Lover her work and look forward to checking out more of her books for years to come.

2. Darren Shan - I fell in absolute love with his Cirque Du Freak series.

3. Stacia Kane - I really dig her Downside Ghosts series and bleak writing style

4. Diana Rowland - Her writing style rocks and her Urban fantasy world is addictive.

5. Patricia Briggs - Even if the Mercy Thompson series is slightly overrated in my book, I love the writers clear style and the characterization.

6. Shirley Daamsguard - I have only read one book from her, but her writing impressed me and I can't wait to check out  more of her stuff.

7. Nancy Haddock - Read her trilogy set in St. Augustine and really latched on to her winning style, refreshing characters, and how she injected humor that worked without seeming forced.

8. Lynne Graham - New to me but around a long time, she may very well prove to be my #1 for Harlequins if the next books I read by her are written as well.

9. AG Cascone - The two women write together under this pen name. Their books are for children and cheesy fun but I love the adult winks they put into the story and how well they are able to create entertaining books suitable for all ages.

10. Candace Havens - I need to find more of her stuff. The writing is incredibly effective, she has a knack for creating charming characters, and the story holds a piece of fun in the midst of any seriousness.
