BTT: Ideal Reading Experience

A Weekly Meme Hosted by Booking Through Thursday

I want you to think about your ideal reading experience. Think about the location. (Your bed? Favorite chair? The beach? Indoors or outdoors?). Think about the sounds. (Is there music playing? Happy children playing in the background? Utter silence?) Is there a snack or beverage nearby? Are you alone or with friends/family (presumably being quiet enough for you to read in peace)? What kind of lighting is there? Are you dressed in something ultra-comfy? What’s your position? Curled up? Stretched out?
Now … describe it so that we can all feel exactly how perfect it is … and why.

This is one of those questions that would could change depending on my mood and what's going on in life at the moment. Lately to me the ideal reading experience would be around the water. I haven't even been to the lake in over a year now and miss it. My fiance and I were talking the other day about how nice it would be someday to own a sailboat.

So, right now I would love to be by a quiet beach in a hammock reading, listening to the sounds of the waves crashing on the rocks and shores. I wouldn't want it blistering hot either, but a nice, calm, subtle wind. I would be laying and reading while having a nice big tall glass of ice tea nearby. I would smell the salt of the sea in the air and be sublimely relaxed.

Sounds wonderful doesn't it? If not the beach theme, I'd love to be on a slow boat during the night with a light for reading. Why at night? I want to lay on a boat in the ocean and look up at the moon and see what it looks like.
