Page 99 Test Challenge (Summer Lovin')

The first challenge I've participated in for the Summer Lovin' Read-a-thon this week.

Directions from the site:

If you have never done this before, the object of the game is to pick a book you have not yet read, turn to page 99 and read that page. Then you give a synopsis of that page and tell us if, based only on that page, would you want to read this book?
Please remember to give a synopsis ONLY, no spoilers and no plagarism.
So get to it! Read that page and let us know what you think? Did it contain any really good teasers? Want to finish the book to find out what was going on?
"Yeah. And he had real beady eyes, and he was wearing a pinstripe suit. With a vest."

I took a deep breath and let it out slowly, the hairs on my arms standing on end.

"You just described the earl of Dunraven," I said softly. "Lord Dunraven was the original owner of this entire area, back in the 1800s, and he's been rumored to haunt not just the Stanley, but most of Estes Park."

Jordin's eyes grew even wider, and the two of us stood in stunned silence for a long moment.

I broke the silence first. "You just laid eyes on your very first full-bodied apparition."

Hmmmm....sounds intriguing. I'm supposing there's some kind of ghost involved. My friend loaned me this book last night and I grabbed it for the challenge since it was close to me. Not sure when I'll get to it (lots before it to read), but it looks intriguing and I love the cover.

Nightmare

Ghost Town is the hottest amusement park in the country, offering state-of-the-art chills and thrills involving the paranormal. The park's main ride is a haunted mansion that promises an encounter with a real ghost.

When Maia Peters visits during her senior year of college, she's not expecting to be impressed. Maia grew up as the only child of a pair of world-renowned "ghost hunters," so the paranormal is nothing new. In fact, the ride feels pretty boring until the very end. There, a face appears from the mist. The face of Jordin Cole, a girl who disappeared from campus a year ago.

Convinced what she saw wasn't a hoax and desperate to find answers to Jordin's disappearance, Maia launches into a quest for answers. Joined by Jordin's boyfriend--a pastor's kid with very different ideas about the spirit realm--Maia finds herself in a struggle against forces she never expected to confront.
