On Sept. 24, 2013, Gary Brandner, author of The Howling, which became an epic cult-classic film, passed away from his battle with esophagus cancer. I remember reading all three of the Howling novels growing up - they were much better than the sequels. He also wrote over 30 novels, short stories, and several screenplays. Always hard losing a writing talent, may he rest in piece.
