Sunday Salon: Birthday Time!

The Sunday Salon was originally started in 2008, but over the years has grown too large to accept new members. They are now a facebook group and open to all. Imagine some university library's vast reading room. It's filled with people--students and faculty and strangers who've wandered in. They're seated at great oaken desks, books piled all around them, and they're all feverishly reading and jotting notes in their leather-bound journals as they go. Later they'll mill around the open dictionaries and compare their thoughts on the afternoon's literary intake....

Past Week - Personal Stuff

It's my birthday - aging isn't fun, but birthdays are. We started the day by eating breakfast at Golden Corral. Ate spaghetti with parents last night, and they are giving me a cake later. Not sure if any gifts yet. Friends taking me out Tuesday night to eat and the bookstore - happy days.

Besides  getting together with a friend at Panera bread on Thursday night, have mainly been a homebody this past week. First visit to Panera, a little overpriced but pretty good food, especially their ridiculously cheese macaroni n' cheese.

What I'm Watching -Been on a major binge of Buffy The Vampire Slayer this week. Actually never watched these growing  up like my friends did. Sure, it's cheesy, but fun. Walking Dead was decent with its second episode, and The Flash was a better episode than normal. Haven't watched Supernatural or Arrow yet this week, and was unpleasantly surprised to find out Grimm is on a long break.
