The Sunday Salon was originally started in 2008, but over the years has grown too large to accept new members. They are now a facebook group and open to all. Imagine some university library's vast reading room. It's filled with
people--students and faculty and strangers who've wandered in. They're
seated at great oaken desks, books piled all around them, and they're
all feverishly reading and jotting notes in their leather-bound journals
as they go. Later they'll mill around the open dictionaries and compare
their thoughts on the afternoon's literary intake....
Past Week - Personal Stuff
I went out with a best friend to eat dinner and hang out on Thursday. She is only days away from her due date - excited about the baby. I'm sure everything will turn out wonderfully. Happy she went with the name I brought up to her, Avery. On Saturday going out with other best friends to Old Town in Kissimee and to eat at an Italian Restaurant for my friend's birthday celebration. I miss the old carnival feel of Old Town but that place is epic.
The picture of the fun zone my amazingly talented photographer friend Amber Sallot took. Fun night!
I also am done finally with deep scaling/cleaning with peridontist as of Tuesday. My insurance, Aetna dental, was atrocious to deal with out of network. They refuse to cover anything and the peridontist office has never heard of a company combining in and out of network costs, taking the out of network away first when I've never used it. I'm definitely much poorer now, but that big step/stage in my treatment is done. Relief is mine.
What I'm Making -
I've still been procrastinating on algebra study for my college exam test (sigh)
I haven't been creative at all this week (except making one banner for a new feature) and have cooked nothing, but did finally get my coffee table, which I am absolutely, 100% in LOVE with. Will look perfect when my new library/living room is finally complete. Just what I was looking for all this time. Haven't decided how to display the books yet on the bottom, but I'm thinking it will be with my white marblish bookends and some hardcovers.

Friday night my mom came over so we could do a Gotham marathon with my son, catching up on the last five episodes we missed. She brought snacks and yummy Godiva Truffle coffee.
With my son this weekend we watched some older movies, Ghost with Patrick Swayze, the comedy and unique movie As Good as it gets, and a truly horrible horror movie.

Continuing my theme of reading the Hannibal Lecter series this year in order of events, I'm beginning Red Dragon. I will continue with Kingdom Come - want to read a lot of superhero novels this year as another theme, so not sure why that's going so slowly. The book is highly rated and good so far. Search the Shadows is from continuing a massive Barbara Michaels re-read this year to cover those books I've read but not reviewed.

Miscellaneous
I am removing the sidebar links and abandoning the following features:
- Book World Weekend - A Feature I was excited about but didn't stay faithful to and have no ambition of continuing.
- WITW Are you reading? - I loved participating in this but they did not continue it and so my last post was 2012, when it ended.
Features I'm Adding soon -
- Mini Children Recap (much like harlequin minis, it will be the second type of this feature and added to the sidebar)
- Monthly Book Photo Challenge by Books & Cupcakes (Through Instagram, Twitter, Tumbler, recap here), starting in April
This is done in part by the challenge for the first half of the year, Book Blogger Organization Challenge
The new Tumblr page (moved over some of the Booklikes images and such to it)
Until Next Week....
