Sunday Salon - April 5

The Sunday Salon was originally started in 2008, but over the years has grown too large to accept new members. They are now a facebook group and open to all. Imagine some university library's vast reading room. It's filled with people--students and faculty and strangers who've wandered in. They're seated at great oaken desks, books piled all around them, and they're all feverishly reading and jotting notes in their leather-bound journals as they go. Later they'll mill around the open dictionaries and compare their thoughts on the afternoon's literary intake....

Past Week - Personal Stuff

First, HAPPY EASTER! Hope everyone had a great one.

This has been a very busy week for me. I took two and a half days off of work, but sadly must return tomorrow.

Last Saturday I took my son paintballing for the first time, as discussed in last week's Sunday Salon post with a cute picture, isn't he precious?  Sunday night he stayed over at a friends, and Thursday night I had his two friends over for a sleepover. We went on the opening night to see Fast and Furious 7, which was of course unrealistic but fun. I enjoyed it better than the last one. We also did a small Easter thing today and have had fun in general.

 Fun selfie the boys did

What I'm Making -

I tried a Pinterest inspiration and made deviled eggs dyed in water with a drop or two of food dye instead of hardboiled eggs. Turned out delicious and pretty. Here is the result with my sad attempt at a tomato flower:

What I'm Watching - I didn't get a lot of my TV done this week. Grimm was good but hate waiting a week between episodes to see what happens next. Juliette - not sure what to think of her yet. The Flash is staying strong and improving as it goes, impressed what their direction so far. I'm watching the new Hell's Kitchen right now. Said goodbye last week to The Walking Dead - *sniff, sniff*

Reading Updates

   Read This Week

Unfortunately only two books completed again this week. Still, I've been especially busy this week with other stuff but think I got a lot of reading done. Have read a few hundred pages of City of Heavenly Fire, which is over seven hundred pages, and finally got back to Brother Ray: Ray Charles story and read about 60 pages of that. Finished Fried Green Tomatoes, and Kiss of Midnight was a whim I started Sunday and finished Monday.

   Currently Reading

I'm at 576 of City of Heavenly Fire, pg 190 of Brother Ray, 25 of The Tenth Planet, and the others I will be starting soon as my superhero read, horror read, and mystery read in order.
