The Sunday Salon was originally started in 2008, but over the years has grown too large to accept new members. They are now a facebook group and open to all.
What's Going On This Week...
This has been a "different" week. I learned about the oncoming hurricane on Tuesday, and it looked like we were going to get hit...but didn't. It thankfully didn't hit as soon on the coast as they figured, which saved a lot of Florida damage, but unfortunately it turned up north into my favorite city of St. Augustine. Such sad flood damage there! On the plus side, I did end up getting a day and a half off of work extra, and some bonding time with family I haven't had for awhile.
I'm getting tired of the election stuff. Will be happy - or should I say resigned - when a president is finally announced at this point.
What I'm Watching
I finally caved and tried Orange is the new Black. I don't love it but I like it. On Season four now. The new Exorcist TV show isn't bad. I'm not hooked yet but it has promise. The return of The Flash was well-done. Impastor is back two episodes in - love this show! It's the only one I buy on Amazon Prime. Lucifer and Gotham both came back even stronger than before.
What I'm Making
I'm in the process of trying to learn to crochet. Looks so easy, and I get it for a few turns, but then...sigh. Not sure I'll ever get beyond the basics at this point, but I'll keep trying. I have a weird urge to make a lot of blankets someday.
Around the Book-World
Steampunk Library Display
For some reason I love creative bookish library displays. So much is catered to just children...but they got it right this time. Not cheesy!
What I've Read This Week
This week has been the FrightFall Read-a-thon.

Uncommon Grounds turned out to be a cute beginning to a mystery series that I'll continue.
Vampyrrhic is a surprisingly good, slow-paced old fashioned vampire horror story. Not only that, but there's a different twist to the storyline.
The Secrets of Montroth House was an enjoyable Gothic, which I needed since some of these have been disappointing lately.
House of Reckoning was just okay. Not a big Saul fan but he's a fast read.
Ruthless Magnate, Convenient Wife had a silly premise and frustrating heroine, but sweet ending. I'm becoming less of a Harlequin fan as time goes on.

Demon Apocalypse is the sixth book in the Demonata series.
Hero at Large...reading for a challenge. I'm not much of a fan of the author anymore.
Children of Chaos has high reviews, so I'm looking forward to that one.
