Every April, on Poem in Your Pocket Day, people celebrate by selecting a poem, carrying it with them, and sharing it with others throughout the day at schools, bookstores, libraries, parks, workplaces, and on social media using the hashtag #pocketpoem.

Here is a free resource if you want some printable poems to participate.

Select towns will be celebrating this day officially.

NYC five burroughs will be celebrating with sponsored poetry events.

For my part, I am going to read a variety of poetry that week. I know little about poetry and am not sure yet which form best pushes my buttons, so I have been planning to branch out for awhile to find something that I'll enjoy. As of now, my favorite poem still remains Annabelle Lee by Edgar Allen Poe. During a former Edgar Allan Poe celebration week, I posted a video post.
