December 2017 Update

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and Happy New Year! Get anything book related for Christmas?

It's been a month that's flown by for me. Nothing too exciting, especially considering it was Christmas month (I was so behind on getting presents, the tree up, don't even ask), and work was busy getting the gifts out to the kids, but as always it's a blessed month to be alive and have so many wonderful things in life to look forward to.

   General Stuff

Life has been uneventful this month other than the holidays. I cooked dinner for the parents on Christmas day when my mom got home from work, which turned out well. Plus another reason to whip out the raisin bread recipe....

My son loved his presents, although he's hard to shop for now since he's mainly only into virtual stuff for the X-box and his computer. His new gaming chair turned out great, especially for the price.

At the end of every year, I do the yearly wrap-up questionare from Perpetual Page Turner. 2017 should be up soon. Meanwhile, I added a link to the side of the website to have a quick way to find current and previous years. I like the yearly wrap-ups as reminders for myself and hope others find it interesting as well. I need to finish the 2017 Resolution post, but feel free to check out the new one for 2018 here.

I put up my planned theme (this year with Paranormal, 2016 was Carnival and 2015 was general) - on Goodreads and LibraryThing. Working on getting the new 2018 Challenge page for the website up. Again, so behind this month on everything.

Oh, and cats love Christmas!

The blue is new case for Kindle Fire, the black and red are for Paperwhite. Yay, Christmas!

Voldemort is now mine!!
Books received for Christmas will be in January update.  Need to finish taking pictures and doing touch-ups.

   What I Read This Month

If not up already, reviews will be up soon. I'm slow. I didn't get as much reading done as usual.

   What I'm Watching

Still binge-watching Blue Bloods because of son. Caught up with Hell's Kitchen finally, but still not Walking dead or other shows. Right now catching up with Ash Vs. Evil Dead since Netflix has finally added it. We looked for a Christmas movie to watch but unfortunately have watched favorites so many times the interest has waned for rewatching right now. Even though I hated the movie, I gave the show The Mist a try - enjoyed it till about episode 6, then started losing interest.

   What I'm Listening To

Since I shared the newer mix of Celtic and Instrumental Christmas last month in November, putting up an older Christmas mix.

Mountain Lodge Reading Nook by Architect Building Designers

If I had a reading nook and view this nice, it would be heaven on Earth. I couldn't imagine it through the seasons - beautiful night, fall leaves, winter snow? *Sighs* I would do a lot for having a beautiful view of my own, but at least it's fun to look at pictures of other peoples and have hope.
